Welcome to the Ari Foss Foundation Donor Information Hub. Here, you’ll find everything you need to know about our commitment to transparency, accountability, and donor appreciation. Explore our Financial Responsibility and Transparency policies, review our Donor Bill of Rights, see our 2024 Donor Report, and learn about donor recognition levels. You’ll also find information on in-kind donations, sponsorships, and current giving opportunities. We’re honored by your support—and proud to show you how we put it to work.
Financial Responsibility and Transparency
Our goal is always to be transparent with how we use finances. Donors deserve this, as do the families we help.
We have two buckets of funds: General Operating and Cremation and Funeral Financial Assistance Program (CFFAP). Any funds received to the CFFAP remain in the CFFAP and are only used for that purpose. General Operating Funds are used for
any valid operating purpose, including the CFFAP, if needed.
CFFAP
The amount of funds in our CFFAP is directly tied to our ability to pay for cremation/ funerals when a family loses a child through a stillborn death or neonatal demise. We do not want to expand before we have sufficient funds to fill the patient referral needs of the hospitals we currently work with. The last thing we want to do is decline a grieving family’s financial assistance request because our CFFAP does not have enough funds.
General Operating
The amount of funds in our General Operations is also tied to achieving this mission. These funds support operation activities for implementing, managing and maintaining the CFFAP. Operating funds are essential for staffing, office needs, and marketing (including educational brochures) for the CFFAP.
Candid Transparency
A Candid Transparency Seal is important because it demonstrates a nonprofit organization’s commitment to openness and accountability, allowing potential donors to easily see their financial information and operations, which ultimately builds trust; essentially, it serves as a visible sign of credibility to the public.
We earned Candid’s 2025 Platinum Transparency Seal (highest level).
Donor Recognition Levels
We value all of our donors. Without them, we would not be able to help families when the unthinkable happens. During our 2024 Giving Tuesday Fundraising Campaign, we developed a tiered donor level for recognition. Donor level is determined by the total amount donated in a calendar year, and a donor’s level can change if additional donations are made during the year.
Donor level recognition will be published in our annual report and on our website. Recognition will be given for the year the donation(s) is made and throughout the next year.

Donor Recognition
Without donors and supporters, we cannot help families when the unthinkable happens. We are truly grateful to all of our donors and supporters.
A special thank you and welcome to the below donors to our inaugural year of donor recognition. Donors will be added throughout the year.
The Donor Bill of Rights
The Donor Bill of Rights was created by the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP), the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy (AHP), the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE), and the Giving Institute: Leading Consultants to Non-Profits. It has been endorsed by numerous organizations.
Philanthropy is based on voluntary action for the common good. It is a tradition of giving and sharing that is primary to the quality of life. To assure that philanthropy merits the respect and trust of the general public, and that donors and prospective donors can have full confidence in the not-for-profit organizations and causes they are asked to support, we declare that all donors have these rights:
I.
To be informed of the organization’s mission, of the way the organization intends to use donated resources, and of its capacity to use donations effectively for their intended purposes.
II.
To be informed of the identity of those serving on the organization’s governing board, and to expect the board to exercise prudent judgment in its stewardship responsibilities.
III.
To have access to the organization’s most recent financial statements.
IV.
To be assured their gifts will be used for the purposes for which they were given.
V.
To receive appropriate acknowledgement and recognition.
VI.
To be assured that information about their donation is handled with respect and with confidentiality to the extent provided by law.
VII.
To expect that all relationships with individuals representing organizations of interest to the donor will be professional in nature.
VIII.
To be informed whether those seeking donations are volunteers, employees of the organization or hired solicitors.
IX.
To have the opportunity for their names to be deleted from mailing lists that an organization may intend to share.
X.
To feel free to ask questions when making a donation and to receive prompt, truthful and forthright answers.
Note from Ari Foss Foundation: We do not use hired solicitors. That is listed in The Donor Bill of Rights, and we republish The Donor Bill of Rights verbatim.

In-Kind Donation Opportunities
Our Online Auction and Memorial Walk Day both rely on the generosity of in-kind donors like you. Whether it’s a product, experience, or service, your donation will help us raise critical funds and bring value to our event.
In-kind donations are now featured as auction items, where supporters can bid or “buy now” leading up to Walk Day. From unique experiences to one- of-a-kind items, your contribution allows us to reach a broader audience and raise meaningful support for grieving families.
We also still welcome day-of donations such as snacks, water, and grab bag goodies for our volunteers and sponsors. These items keep our team energized and appreciated throughout the day. Please note: to contribute to volunteer grab bags, your business must be an event sponsor.
Every contribution helps us create a meaningful, memorable event. Thank you for considering a donation that supports grieving families in a practical and heartfelt way.

Gift Card Donation Opportunities
Memorial Walk Sponsorship Proposal
The Ari Foss Foundation Memorial Walk Online Auction is one of our most impactful fundraising tools—and gift cards of any amount or type play a vital role in its success.
We gratefully accept donations of gift cards from local restaurants, boutiques, service providers, and national retailers. Your donation will be featured in our online auction, where supporters can bid or “buy now,” with all proceeds directly supporting grieving families through our mission.
As a thank you, your business will receive a dedicated social media spotlight, tagging your account and sharing your generosity with our community of donors and followers. Gift card donors will also be listed in our auction promotion materials.
Your support truly makes a difference, and we’d be honored to partner with you in memory of Ari and in support of so many families walking through unimaginable loss.
