Ari Foss Foundation Receives $4,000 Grant from Winthrop Family Fund
North Charleston, SC – The Ari Foss Foundation is honored to announce the receipt of a $4,000 grant from the Winthrop Family Fund. This generous grant, approved in June 2025, will enable the Ari Foss Foundation to develop an Education and Support Program to expand the foundation’s ability to support families experiencing the tragic loss of a stillborn or newborn child.
With the Winthrop Family Fund, the Ari Foss Foundation will develop an Education and Support program to implement it in Allendale and Hampton Counties. Once implemented in those counties, the program will be rolled out to its current referral hospitals.
The Education and Support program will have two components. The first is step-by-step guidance on how to plan a cremation or funeral. This will directly complement the Ari Foss Foundation’s Cremation and Funeral Financial Assistance Program. The second will be information and support for grieving and mental health. This will expand their ability to help families cope with the loss of their child.
“We are incredibly grateful for the support from the Winthrop Family Fund and their compassion to help families work through the challenges of losing a child,” said Aaron Silverman, Ari’s Dad, Co-Founder and Executive Director of the Ari Foss Foundation. “This grant will help us expand the support we provide to families who have experienced a stillbirth or neonatal loss. I would also like to thank the Coastal Community Foundation for helping facilitate this grant by overseeing the application process.”
The Ari Foss Foundation was established in memory of Ari Foss Silverman, who was stillborn on July 30, 2014. Through this foundation, Ari’s legacy lives on by providing compassionate support and financial aid to families who have experienced the heartbreaking loss of a child.
